Buena Vista Phase I:
Site Development:    

 

A 1¼ -acre parcel of land has been pledged to be

donated to V2V to be used for a new facility in Buena

Vista.  The parcel is located approximately one mile

south of the Town via Highway 285 and County Road

319 on flat ground with direct access to paved CR 319,

and to the Central Colorado Regional Airport just north

along CR319.   The community has expressed an urgent

need for the facility resulting in a perceived willingness

to encourage the project.   It is believed that from an

entitlement and permitting standpoint construction at

the site could proceed within a few months following

sufficient funding raised and once normal administrative

hurdles are cleared. 

The property will be served by the Town's water system,  an individual sewage lift station and force main to the Buena Vista Sanitation District wastewater collection system that terminates just north of the site, electrical power, telecommunications and natural gas utilities constructed in accordance with applicable specifications.   On-site improvements will include grading of the site, extension of utilities to the building itself, excavation for building construction, decorative fencing as desired, seeding and landscaping, driveway and parking surfacing and signage.

Respite Facility - +/- 6,000 sf:  

 

The basic needs for this respite and assisted living facility are considered to include space to accommodate the following:

  • Entry vestibule (weather seal); Customer Lobby/waiting room (accommodate up to 6-8 people in motion)

  • Administrative Office and Handicapped accessible toilet & bath facilities

  • 5 ea. Assisted Living (AL) rooms w/twin bed; 2 ea. Large AL rooms w/queen bed; 1 ea. Couple or luxury AL room w/king bed; 2 ea. 2-person Respite bedrooms w/2 queen beds each; and 5 ea patient toilet/bath

  • Food storage area, Mechanical room, and  Laundry

  • Staff break and rest space and snooze room

  • Dining room to comfortably accommodate up to 30 diners, plus random access to beverages and snacks 

  • Commercial kitchen and serving facilities sized commensurate with dining and serving capabilities

  • AL Lounge area to accommodate leisure activity such as reading, tv watching, conversation, games activity all with access to outdoor patios with quick and easy access to handicapped accessible toilet facilities

  • Crafts & Exercise Room w/convenient outdoor access; plus Private use (family meeting) room

  • Lounge area to accommodate leisure activity such as reading, tv watching, library, conversation, games activity all with access to outdoor patios and handicapped accessible toilet facilities 

All facilities will be ultra-accessible and user friendly for all varieties of handicaps throughout, mindful that either customers or caregiver employees may need handicap accessibility. 

 

Ceilings in lounge area and general purpose areas will be high to keep the feeling open and airy and to encourage peace of mind, quiet enjoyment and ease of observation by caregiver personnel.  Lighting will be variable to stimulate any variety of circumstances for lounging and relaxation purposes.  

Valley to Valley has plans for a new senior assisted living and day care-respite facility in Buena Vista, Colorado on land pledge to be given to them for the project.  Administrative and funding hurdles are yet to be overcome before construction can begin.
